UACTE FACTS AT A GLANCE
• UACTE is the preeminent organization for teachers in career
and technical education in both public schools and higher education.
• The Vision of UACTE is that students have the skills necessary
to make informed career decisions that will direct them in career paths
allowing them to be productive and responsible adults.
• The Mission of UACTE is to advocate for CTE teachers and programs.
• The UACTE Annual Conference has grown to be an extremely popular
professional development opportunity for all teachers in the State of
Utah.
• UACTE supports political initiatives and candidates who promote
career and technical education.
• UACTE changed its name from Utah Vocational Association (UVA)
in May 2002.
• Utah Vocational Association was organized in 1929, making UACTE
one of the oldest vocational/career associations in the country.
• UACTE has no paid employees and is supported solely from dues
and conference revenues.
• UACTE is an affiliate of ACTE. UACTE is made up of 10 divisions
and one prospective division. These divisions are: Family and Consumer
Science, Technology Education, Trade and Industry, Agriculture, Marketing,
Business, Work-based Learning, Guidance, Administration, Health Occupations,
Special Needs.
